WHAT TO WEAR TO YOUR WITCHY PHOTO SHOOT
Hello my lovely witches.
When planning a witchy photo shoot, you have the opportunity to express your personal style and at the same time -embrace the magical aesthetic. Here are some suggestions for what to wear to create an enchanting look:
Flowing Dresses and Skirts: Opt for long, flowing dresses or skirts in dark or earthy tones. Ivory or rust stand out in the green forest. Look for fabrics like lace, velvet, or chiffon to add a touch of elegance and mystery to your outfit.
Capes or cloaks are a fun touch to add to the shoot too, and can add an easy second look, keep you warm, and add another color option to the shoot.
Crystals and Accessories: Incorporate crystals, gemstones, and other witchy accessories into your outfit. Adorn yourself with crystal pendants, amulets, or gemstone rings. Consider wearing a crystal crown or adorning your hair with flowers or dried herbs.
SHOES. Shoes can be the hard part! Barefoot is always an option so bring some flip flops to kick off or to wear in the water, and wear a tank and little shorts or leggings that you can change in the forest easily. If its cold, wear shoes that go with your vibe.
Think flowy and comfortable over frumpy and stiff!
FEEL FREE TO BRING TWO LOOKS!
A common theme in my work is light work and shadow work, so I love representing both.
Also, wigs can be a pain as you know, so if you bring one, let’s work with your real hair first.
Statement Jewelry: Accessorize with statement jewelry that embodies a mystical or occult theme. Look for pieces such as pentacle necklaces, moon or crystal pendants, rings with unique gemstones, or ornate bracelets.
If your not a jewelry kind of witch, skip it. I feel the same about hair and make up, you can either get it done, or do it yourself. Some earthy witches choose minimal make up, some decorate themselves up- and I love both.
This shoot can be as simple as just finding a dress or finding one you already own, keeping yourself hydrated and rested and showing up to play in the forest with me for a few hours - OR going big and shopping for dresses, jewelry, getting hair and make up done, booking with the owls ect, ALL THE THINGS. Either way, enjoy the process, give yourself time.
Don’t order the dress right before the shoot and then it doesn’t fit right. Order a few and return a few. TIME is a gift, so give yourself time.
A note on styling, steer clear of dresses that look “modern” or bridesmaid dresses. Styling can be simple but it is kind of everything. I find it much more difficult to shoot a modern or normal dress and to make the shoot look ethereal, dreamy, witchy, or esoteric.
If you are a couple and one of you look magical and one of you in jeans and a t-shirt, think of that too:)
Remember, your witchy photo shoot is an opportunity to embrace your own personal style and bring out your own inner magic. Feel free to mix and match different elements to create a look that resonates with you and captures the enchanting essence you desire.
A note on styling though, a “normal” or modern
