Surviving the Apocalypse

This is one of my most EPIC family shoots EVER.

For those of you that don’t know me, I have two photography styles. My other website, Portraits by Dawndra showcases the other side of me. I truly love doing both.

This shoot was a dream… I got to merge my two worlds, conceptual photography with my family photography.

This concept/idea began when Ellen Meny of King 5 News emailed me and asked if she could follow along and film one of my photo shoots. Obviously the answer was a thousand times YES!

I knew that since I make my living doing family and couples portraits, it would be smart the smart thing for my business to showcase that.

But I wanted to make different, I wanted to speak to how I felt.

While walking my dog one afternoon it hit me... I had to do an apocalyptic shoot! The pandemic brought up all kinds of apocalyptic comments and thoughts.

I guess in some ways it felt like the end of the world. None of us had ever experienced anything like this after all.

This family was truly amazing to work with. They completely nailed it.

Thank you to my team for this day, and to Ellen Meny for being there with her beautiful energy and making this happen.
