Witchy Maternity Session- Seattle Ethereal Photography
This shoot was beyond magical.
We met at Lincoln Park in the morning after rescheduling a few times due to the rain. We chose a weekday so the park was empty and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. A friend of this beautiful woman gifted her this maternity shoot and she thought we would be a good match working together, and she was right. Chelsea brought two dresses and I brought a cart full of props to dress it up. I got the crown and the choker on Etsy.
We focused on the power of the earth and a little pagan ritual to call in protection for their first baby. Chelsea’s love joined us for the shoot, but he just popped in for a few images.
How to set the Sacred Space for baby protection:
Find a quiet peaceful space where you won't be disturbed.
Light the white candle, signifying the presence of purity and protection.
Sprinkle salt or herbs around the space to purify it.
Invocation of Deities or Spirits:
Call upon any deities or spirits that you personally work with or that are associated with protection and fertility. You might invoke a Mother Goddess or a deity related to family and children.
Personal Intentions:
Take a moment to focus on your intentions for the unborn baby's protection. Write down your wishes on the piece of paper.
Offering:
Make an offering to the deities or spirits. This could be a small portion of food, drink, or any other item that is meaningful to you.
Blessing:
Hold the charm or protective amulet in your hands and infuse it with your intentions for the baby's well-being.
Pass the amulet through the candle's flame (be cautious not to burn it) to symbolize the infusion of protective energy.
Symbolic Actions:
You may choose to walk in a circle around the sacred space, symbolizing the cycle of life and protection.
Speak words of affirmation and love for the unborn baby.
Closing:
Thank the deities or spirits for their presence and assistance.
Extinguish the candle and close the sacred space.
Here is a short version of the little film I made of this super fun, witchy, earthy, ethereal maternity shoot. I had a blast, and I am very grateful for this work.
