THE DREAM ROLL - For WOMEN WHO RIDE Bikes And Broomsticks
I know this is my witchy website for all things witchy. But we are witches on motorcycles in modern times, no more broomsticks.
And I feel like talkin’ about and reliving The Dream Roll.
My friend Rhiannon aptly named it "Biker Babe Utopia.” I had no idea it was going to be so fun, so wild, so freeing. That I would leave there feeling a part of something big. A collective of woman who come together for the love of riding motorcycles.
I put together some images from Dream Roll 2022 and 2023 for your pure biker babe enjoyment.
2022. The ride there was beautiful- there were about 15 of us that rolled up together. I stayed in a bunk house with 6 amazing women the first year. I only knew one of them well, and the others I had met before and really liked. We all left Dream Roll as close friends. That was one of the best things about it. We still hang out two years later. The second year I went I drove my van with my bike on the back. I wanted to bring the bed in my van, the food, my trusty pup Ezme, and more photo gear. I did feel half jealous not to ride and camp though, there is something to be said about that experience.
It's hard to choose my favorite part of the event. Maybe it was when standing in line for a burrito, I saw an absolutely amazing half naked woman on a dirt bike would ride by with warrior make up.
Or was it the amazing group ride we went on led by a magical woman, the leader in a blue jumpsuit and a smile for days. She was also a really good dancer.
As we all snaked through the windy open country roads, it felt like we were one entity. A snake perhaps.
The live music was AMAZING, and DJ Skylar absolutely killed it. We danced our asses off late into the night. Sativa was a masterful MC and entertainer. A TRUE QUEEN. Jello (and mud) Wrestling was positively nuts. The vendors were all amazing, and I bought all the things. I had my tintype portrait made by Megan Karson, and that was definitely an empowering moment. Jumping in the lake was another high point. Next time I want to skinny dip at night. Shhhh.
ALL IN ALL, THE BEST PART WAS THE UNITY, THE ENERGY, THE FUCKING VIBE. THE DIFFERENT SHAPES, SIZES, GENDER PREFERENCES– IT WAS SO INCLUSIVE, LOVING, AND SAFE. YET, WE WERE ALL WILD ANIMALS SET FREE TO JUST BE OURSELVES– ALL FOR THE LOVE OF FUCKING MOTORCYCLES.
